We understand that shelters everywhere are full, and sometimes families face difficult decisions when it comes to rehoming a beloved pet. To help our community and reduce shelter crowding, we’re extending our services through our Community Rehoming Program. This program allows pet owners who need to find a new home for their animals to have them featured on our website—so individuals and families looking for a specific type of pet can browse available animals directly. Please note: Animals listed through the Community Rehoming Program are not evaluated, vetted, or housed by the Humane Society of Harris County. We are simply offering our platform as a resource to help connect pets in need with potential adopters. Our goal is to give every pet the best chance at finding a loving home, while supporting the people who care for them.
By using our Rehome program, you help reduce shelter overcrowding and give your pet the best chance at a smooth, low-stress transition. All rehoming pets are shared with our community of adopters who are actively looking to provide loving homes.
